Beginning Theatre I
The primary focus of this class is to learn about the fundamental aspects of theatre performance through ensemble building. Students will study performance in relation to critical thinking, problem-solving, focus, teamwork, and the technical aspects of theatre. Students will be introduced to basic theatre terms and script analysis. This class is a pre-requisite for Theatre II/III and Theatre IV.
Intermediate Theatre II
The primary focus of this class is to expose students to various styles of theatre. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of how to hone their art as individual actors, actresses, designers, and technicians through small group work. Students will also work through the different aspects of technical theatre (stage management, costuming, set, lights, and sound). This class is a prerequisite for Theatre IV.
Proficient Theatre III
The primary focus of this class is to expose students to various playwrights and styles of theatre. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of how to hone their art as individual actors, actresses, designers, and technicians through small group work. Students will also work through the different aspects of technical theatre (stage management, costuming, set, lights, and sound). This class is a prerequisite for Theatre IV.
Advanced Theatre “Academy”
The primary focus of this class is to prepare students for a higher education in the theatrical arts and/or prepare them for an immediate career in the theatrical arts.
